Latin AmericaLatin America is one ofSustainability theCircular economy most biodiverse regions on Earth. Its location and climatic characteristics provide favorable conditions for the development of agricultureAgriculture, whose crops generate waste and pollution but contribute mainly to Gross Domestic Profit (GDP). Latin AmericaLatin America is a region that meets its energyEnergy requirements using a diversity of sources. These sources are both non-renewable and renewable. As time passes and fossil fuels deplete, the share of renewable energy sources grows. In this chapter, a brief overview of the energy-waterWater-social situation in this region is presented. Latin AmericaLatin America has high water availability; however, pollution generates great concern because the effluents are of anthropogenic origin, and the availability of drinking waterDrinking water services is low. The social panorama of Latin AmericaLatin America from the education sector indicates a decrease in government support at different educational levels. At the same time, job creation is not increasing, and the gap between countries is increasing. The healthHealth sector does not offer good service provision, and there is rising inequality in achieving Universal HealthHealth Coverage (UHC) while basic sanitation is not available to more than half of the population, which can be linked to the high pollution faced by this region. Finally, sustainableSustainable opportunities in Latin AmericaLatin America to meet energyEnergy needs, improve access to waterWater resourcesResource, and strengthen agricultural activities are discussed to enhance the quality of life for vulnerable populations in the region.
