Robot Navigation Based on Wireless Sensor Networks and Its Security Challenges in Industrial Environments

The rapidly increasing development in automationAutomation demands the use of wireless devices. Localization and navigation play a crucial role in the application of these devices. Navigation has seen numerous methods developed in today's advanced world. In my work, I investigated the application of widely used WiFi technology worldwide. The chosen method was RSSI-based mapping, localization, and navigation. The research aims to test and implement this method, collecting and evaluating data through laboratory measurements. Ultimately, the results obtained demonstrate the accuracy of a wireless sensor networkWireless Sensor Network (WSN)-based localization and navigation using a single technology. In this work, we present a wireless sensor network (WSNWireless Sensor Network (WSN)) navigation solution implemented in a real industrial robot environment, allowing the robot to determine the location of an objects for gripping. The mapping process was achieved through practical experiments, and the results were validated with precise measurements. The use of wireless technology raises several securitySecurity concerns, which we analyze to assess the application’s robustness from this perspective. This study thus addresses both the operational and securitySecurity dimensions of WSNWireless Sensor Network (WSN)-based robotic navigation.
