This chapter starts with a systematic review of the existing literature on teaching psychiatric ethics to doctors in training. We found 38 relevant articles and use a narrative synthesis of their content to discuss dilemmas around the purpose of ethics teaching, what should be taught, who the teaching should be aimed at and how it would be most effectively delivered. Based on the review and our experiences being taught, and teaching, psychiatric ethics to doctors, we conclude with some recommendations on curriculum design and teaching strategies.
