1. Finding out the intentions of the patient as well as estimating the benefit-risk-ratio of an indicated treatment are introduced as ethical basics of each treatment. Ethical implications of psychiatric treatments will be considered in a stepwise mode: 2. before starting the treatment: 2.1 establishing the benefit-risk-ratio of the indicated treatment. 2.2 evaluating the intentions and wishes auf the patient with regard to the ethically accepted and proposed treatment with respect of his dignity and self-determination. 2.3 Adapting the benefit-risk-ratio of each indicated treatment as far as possible to the intentions, values and wishes of the patient 2.4 consent to treatment. 2.5 During treatment: monitoring the possibly changing benefit-risk-ratio of the treatment.
