Orchestrating with the Electric Guitar
摘要
Orchestrating an amplified instrument in combination with acoustic instruments poses some challenges to the composer. One of the main concerns is the acoustic balance amongst the collective instrumental forces, as the amplitude control of an electronic instrument and its directional sound transmission is more limited and less nuanced than the mechanical control and response of a player’s bow or breath, especially when combined with an acoustic instrument’s natural diffusion and resonance into a particular space.
