This chapter addresses the targeted use of artificial intelligence (AI) in final editing, the fine-tuning of academic papers. The chapter provides practical insights into how various AI applications contribute to quality improvement: they facilitate the detection and correction of formal errors, promote clear expression, and help develop coherent and comprehensible lines of argumentation. In addition, strategies for systematic literature critique and for checking the formal consistency of reference lists are explained. Furthermore, the role of AI in the final review and revision process is highlighted—with concrete prompts for different scenarios.
