Causes and Symptoms in Individuals and Society
摘要
The development of consumer and luxury addiction cannot be attributed solely to individual character traits or psychological dispositions, but is significantly shaped by societal structures, consumption norms, and economic imperatives. In addition to the psychological mechanisms that lead to the formation of addictive behaviors, this chapter examines how social dynamics—such as familial influences or peer pressure—foster these behaviors. The chapter emphasizes that excessive consumption cannot be understood merely as an individual problem, but is deeply embedded in social, economic, and cultural processes. Furthermore, symptoms indicative of pathological buying behavior are listed.
