Before registering a trademark in the trademark register, the patent office examines solely whether the trademark overcomes the so-called absolute grounds for refusal. Signs that violate public order or accepted principles of morality are not registered as trademarks. In addition, signs that contain state coats of arms, national flags, state emblems, coats of arms of a domestic locality or a domestic municipal or other local authority, or official inspection or certification marks, are not entered into the patent office’s trademark register.

摘要

Before registering a trademark in the trademark register, the patent office examines solely whether the trademark overcomes the so-called absolute grounds for refusal. Signs that violate public order or accepted principles of morality are not registered as trademarks. In addition, signs that contain state coats of arms, national flags, state emblems, coats of arms of a domestic locality or a domestic municipal or other local authority, or official inspection or certification marks, are not entered into the patent office’s trademark register.
