Filmer les animaux des Fleurs du Mal : le bestiaire baudelairien au cinéma
摘要
This chapter aims to investigate how animals are depicted in films inspired by Baudelaire’s oeuvre. First, the interpretative approach circumscribes the three main functions that animal representations fulfill in the Baudelairean universe: realistic, allegorical, and decorative. The second stage of the analysis examines the poet’s self-figuration as an animal and then moves on to the various forms of animal representation used by filmmakers who have drawn inspiration from Baudelaire. A wide variety of films (dramas, literary adaptations, animated films, horror films) are analyzed, and the most important Baudelairean animals are singled out: the albatross, the dog, the cat, and the snake.
