Laser Plasma Physics at High Intensities
摘要
This chapter builds upon the previously discussed fundamentals of laser-plasma interaction. However, it now outlines modern developments that have emerged following the enormous increase in short-pulse laser intensities. We begin with a brief account of the history and perspectives of laser development. Subsequently, we focus primarily on two current branches of research and development: plasma accelerators and plasma optics. We could add further topics, such as plasma mirrors, but must omit them for reasons of space.
