Many problems of linear algebra but also of analysis lead to the task of solving a linear equation system. Such equation systems can always be solved completely and clearly. This is quite different with nonlinear equation systems. The method of choice for solving a linear equation system is based on the Gaussian elimination method. We present this method in great detail and also describe the structure of the solution set of such a system.
