The sets of numbers \({\mathbb N}\) , \({\mathbb {Z}}\) , \({\mathbb Q}\) and \({\mathbb R}\) of natural, integer, rational and real numbers are known from school. In this chapter, we briefly consider a few aspects that concern the natural, integer and rational numbers as far as we need them in engineering mathematics.
