Customs/Habits (mœurs)
摘要
In response to the question of how a political order and the values and ideals embodied by it can be preserved within a country, there are fundamentally four answers. The first asserts that such preservation occurs without any human intervention and is to be considered the effect of an invisible hand. The second refers to an institutional structure established by humans, which in itself forms a sufficiently stable structure. The third refers to the motives of human action and postulates that a certain type of people, or at least the motives of action dominant in these people, are needed. The fourth, finally, believes that a combination of the various factors is needed.
