Status Quo and Development Trends in Digital Health
摘要
The term digitalization presents us with a dilemma, as it can refer both to the conversion of analog data and information into a digital representation and to the initiation of a transformation or change process. Therefore, this article begins with a definition of the digital-*** word family. Subsequently, the difference between purpose-driven companies and financial companies is highlighted. The purpose (meaning and objective) of purpose-driven companies primarily lies in creating social value, whereas financial companies primarily pursue the goal of increasing the value of the invested capital. The chapter concludes with an outlook that emphasizes the significance of purpose as well as the purpose economy for the healthcare sector, and in particular for the field of chronic care.
