Setting-Specific Process Planning and Organizational Development
摘要
The complexity of healthcare requires organizational development that takes into account different care settings. Healthcare institutions, especially hospitals, have long been considered highly hierarchical organizations, even though the healthcare professionals working there possess high levels of competence, specialized knowledge, and significant legal responsibility for working with people. While in acute care we often encounter multiprofessional team structures that work together directly, in home care, for example, we usually find individual workplaces where the professional is, on the one hand, in a solitary decision-making situation, but on the other hand, faces conditions of action that are based on the decisions of others involved in care. These different setting conditions must form the basis of organizational development.
