In this chapter, we present global defense concepts and approaches for organizations in the areas of preventive, reactive, and detective information security. Our focus is on providing a comprehensive overview of these defense concepts in order to present our approaches in a nuanced and comprehensible manner. A fundamental understanding is that preventive, reactive, and detective concepts cannot exist in isolation.
