Philosophy about climate change
摘要
The hypothesis of climate change has withstood all attempts to falsify over the past decades, in accordance with Karl Popper. Wealth with higher living standards vs. poverty and population growth are concerns of various thinkers. In particular, they emphasize the moral responsibility of the West to bear the immense financial burden needed to tackle the climate crisis. The West has lived off the resources and at the environmental expense of the poor. Ivan Illich (1926–2002), among other things, showed with his concept of generalized speed that the bicycle is - all things considered - faster than the car for somewhat short distances.
