Global warming is causing accelerated melting of glaciers worldwide, accompanied by rising sea levels. Depending on the scenario, this rise may be in centimeters, decimeters, or meters —bringing severe consequences for coastal areas and their megacities. Special attention is given to the critical Thwaites Glacier in Antarctica, which holds 90% of global ice masses.
