In order to describe Enlightenment as a process spanning across epochs, I use the concept of transformation. By this, I mean the transfer and reshaping of certain scientific and philosophical theories of the Enlightenment into other contexts. What is transferred functions as a potential that is realized in new contexts and thereby changes to a greater or lesser extent.
