Diagnosing hernias before and during pregnancy can cause significant uncertainty and concern for women. The accurate diagnosis and classification of hernia findings, as well as counseling pregnant women, are of utmost importance. This chapter addresses pregnancy in relation to inguinal hernias, ventral hernias, incisional hernias, and rare internal hernias following bariatric surgery. It also formulates recommendations for the consulting surgeon.
