Donald Trump refuses to engage rationally with factual arguments. He does this not only in his Twitter posts, but also in his changes to the traditional ways of dealing with the press and the public, which has led to less and less space for a democratic culture of discussion. This article not only analyzes the mechanisms of these changes, but also suggests possible responses and argumentation strategies aimed at countering these anti-discursive strategies and manipulation techniques. The Platonic dialogues and the rational rhetoric developed by Plato in confrontation with ancient sophistry are suggested as a source of ideas for this as they provide rich material for strategies of evasion, but also in the search for rational political debate.

摘要
