This chapter is dedicated to various facets of Trump’s performance with a view to understanding both the underlying discursive and affective political mechanisms of his presidency as well as their respective effects on the political and cultural landscape of the USA. Furthermore, this chapter reflects on the question of which theoretical approaches might prove analytically adequate in the face of today’s political dynamics. Ultimately, it is therefore not only about the person Trump, but also about the knowledge production and criticism related to him.
