Introduction
摘要
In this chapter we provide a brief overview of the theories and techniques of (multi-sensor) data fusion. We describe several common data fusion strategies and conceptual frameworks. We then describe a new unified data fusion model around which we categorize the different data fusion systems and algorithms described in the book. Finally we briefly mention the drawbacks to using data fusion and in particular the problem of catastrophic fusion. We show briefly how catastrophic fusion may be avoided by employing additional auxiliary sensors or by using various consistency tests.
