This chapter deals with the various actors in the religious field—from the gods to angelsAngel, saintsSaint and prophetsProphet to the “ground staff of GodGround staff of God”, i.e. the priests in religions—regardless of whether they are called pastors, bishops, apostles, brahmins, mullahs, shamans, lamas, gurus or simply “clerics”. Where are they the link, “channel” or bridge of the believers to faith and God? How do they help the religious community to interpret the religious scriptures? When are they “representatives of God” on earth? How powerful are they? What advantages do they have in society?
