Humanistic and Authoritarian Religion: Salvation and Disaster Through Faith
摘要
This chapter deals with the light- and shadow sidesShadow side of religions. The psychoanalyst Erich Fromm distinguished very early between authoritarian and humanistic religion. It is about the question, where is religion supportive and helpful for the development of humans—and where is it harmful, because it disempowers and hinders the free development of humans. It also deals with the question of what religion is used for and how power is exercised with religion.
