Defining a Suitable Idea of Leadership
摘要
This chapter introduces the concept of a “role mix,” where a leader defines their unique combination of the Boss, Coach, Partner, and Enabler roles, shaping their overall idea of leadership. Defining an appropriate idea of leadership is the manager’s responsibility, influenced by their context, skills, and personality. Leaders should also consider how their team members perceive and attribute these roles. A role mix can be developed through a simple weighting process, such as assigning points to each role, either in self-reflection or workshop settings. Additionally, the leader’s supervisor can actively contribute, offering insights and support in shaping an effective role mix.
