In this chapter, higher-order laminate theories are presented, namely the so-called First-Order Shear Deformation Theory as well as the so-called Third-Order Shear Deformation Theory according to Reddy. Both theories are so-called single-layer theories that take transverse shear strains into account and in which the laminate is reduced to its middle plane. The basic equations are derived for both theories and some exact analytical solutions for boundary value problems are discussed. The Ritz method is also introduced as an approximation method. The chapter concludes with the treatment of so-called layerwise theories for laminates.

摘要

In this chapter, higher-order laminate theories are presented, namely the so-called First-Order Shear Deformation Theory as well as the so-called Third-Order Shear Deformation Theory according to Reddy. Both theories are so-called single-layer theories that take transverse shear strains into account and in which the laminate is reduced to its middle plane. The basic equations are derived for both theories and some exact analytical solutions for boundary value problems are discussed. The Ritz method is also introduced as an approximation method. The chapter concludes with the treatment of so-called layerwise theories for laminates.
