On a warm, late summer Sunday, 9-year-old Lotta is at a popular bathing and leisure lake near Hanover in Lower Saxony, Germany with her mother. While walking along the shore, the girl is looking for beautiful stones in the shallow water. A noticeably yellowish shimmering pebble, more beautiful than all other stones and pebbles, catches her special attention.
