On a warm summer day, our helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) was alerted to a “child traffic accident”; immediately after takeoff, it became clear from the radio communication that the involved child had been severely injured. Upon approach, two mechanisms were reported, from the child being run over by a tractor to the tractor standing on the child.
