Environmental (protection) psychology deals with the question of how to explain and promote environmentally protective behavior and action. The findings on this are compiled in the present chapter. Subsequently, concrete intervention possibilities for promoting sustainable action and decision-making are presented. Most of these approaches were developed independently of the condition-analytical findings from practice. An alternative path, which is scientifically “cleaner” and promises more knowledge gain, is the derivation of interventions from the presented condition-analytical findings. Therefore, this possibility is also discussed. The conclusion of the chapter deals with environmental education as a traditional field of environmental pedagogy, which suggests a networking of environmental psychology and environmental pedagogy for mutual benefit.
