At times, nature presents us with compositions of such beauty that we could never have imagined them ourselves. One of last year’s maple leaves lies in the shallows at the edge of our pond. It has visibly lost in substance and appears transparent and porous, but it is still solid enough for these bubbles to lie trapped underneath, giving me this rather unusual photograph.
