One sunny afternoon, my wife and I were having coffee by the pond. All of a sudden, there was a commotion: blades of grass bent down and sprang back; frogs jumped into the water ... then all was quiet again. With my camera at the ready, I slowly stalked around the pond where I discovered what was the reason behind all this commotion: a big grass snake had snatched an adult common water frog and was now trying to swallow it whole. As its eyes had been bigger than its stomach, this proved to be quite the challenge.
