This study aimed to explore the factors influencing the attendance rate and spectator number of the Chinese Football Association Super League (CSL) and to compare the specific impact of each factor. A total of 1,200 CSL games from 2015 to 2019 were included in the study. In this study. Two dependent variables were introduced: attendance rate and spectator number. Twelve independent variables were introduced, including three categories: a) league information variables; b) economic variables; and c) environmental variables. Two multiple regression models were applied to evaluate the factors that impacted attendance rate and spectator number. In addition, multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity tests were conducted to evaluate the model. The results showed that ten independent variables had significant impacts on the variable “Attendance Rate” (AR). Except for air quality index, the other nine variables above also had significant effects on the variable “Spectator Quantity” (SQ). These results could help the operating team of the Chinese Football Association Super League set league schedules and assist the managers of all clubs in the CSL by allocating funds.
