摘要
Creativity may still be described and defined in distinction to intelligence and other mental performances as a personality trait or construct, but significant difficulties arise in creativity diagnostics when it comes to making meaningful decisions about creativity potential under controlled conditions. Instead of sophisticated creativity tests under standardized conditions, scenarios with open problems would offer themselves as an alternative to creativity diagnostics, for which, however, appropriate grids with a graduated scale as an assessment system would be needed, which would already largely contain the possible creative responses and anticipate them as a benchmark. Additionally, it would be advisable not to be interested solely in creativity as a personality variable, but to assess creativity together with other corresponding personality traits within the framework of an “indirect creativity diagnostics” and to create a trait profile. In this context, it should not be overlooked that creativity does not thrive in a “vacuum,” but always relies on prior knowledge and builds upon it, alongside an intellectual basic equipment or corresponding tools. A “negative diagnostics” could also be helpful, i.e., examining those traits that demonstrably prevent or block creative behavior, such as prejudices or stereotypes.
