Iridectomy
摘要
Performing an iridectomy is one of the fundamental skills of any surgically active ophthalmologist and is therefore generally part of the training to become a specialist in ophthalmology as the “smallest intraocular procedure.” The oldest surgical procedure in glaucoma treatment was introduced by Albrecht von Graefe in the 19th century and is now predominantly performed with the neodymium: YAG laser as laser iridotomy. It is the method of choice for angle-closure glaucoma as a prophylaxis for pupillary block.
