Paraneoplastic Syndromes in Endocrinology and Metabolism

Independent of individual, circumscribed, metabolic, and endocrine diseases, there exist a variety of sometimes common, sometimes rare paraneoplastic syndromes. Sometimes the clinical presentation provides the crucial suspicion, sometimes it is individual laboratory phenomena or both. The clarification is often laborious, the assignment to a primary tumor difficult, and the therapy sometimes challenging. This chapter serves as an orienting overview for classification and diagnostics.
