Dragonfly Swarms
摘要
These Four-spotted Chasers (Libellula quadrimaculata) were filmed by M. Koshkin in Kazakhstan when millions of them performed a peculiar spectacle. Groups of them moved towards each other, then flew concentratedly downwards, reminiscent of waterfalls, and then continued flying or landing on the ground. Later, they covered bushes and herbs for roosting (following page). Dragonflies can appear in masses, especially when they form migratory swarms.
