Male dragonflies can avoid fights and become pacifists – but only if they have coloured wings. Dragonflies like these Chasers of the genus Neurothemis from Thailand show off their coloured wings. This is how they let their conspecifics know how fit they are. The division of territories and thus also mating opportunities can be regulated in this way without fighting.
