Acoustic emission technique can be applied on art objects made of wood and having a variety of shapes. AE technique applied to art objects conserved in a museum microclimate or in a public building is able to record physical changes in wood material at the micro-level. The continuous accumulation of acoustic micro events can alert and prevent the possible danger of important damaging effects induced by the variation of the micro climate or by other events.
