Environmental concerns are leading to a renewal of interest in a broad range of high-performance structural applications, such as engineered wood products, wood-based skyscrapers, double curvature synclastic wood panels based on multi-angle laminating transparent wood, high-performance densified wood, etc. All these new products require the development of non-destructive techniques for the evaluation of their quality. Among these techniques, the acoustical ones are of primary interest because they are not harmful to operators and the environment and are not excessively costly.
