In this chapter we consider plane contact problems of transversely isotropic media, for which the symmetry axis of isotropy coincides with the contact normal axis. Since such contact problems can be reduced to corresponding contacts of completely isotropic media already at the level of fundamental solutions for point or line loads on the surface, we limit ourselves to the presentation of this reduction method. Specific contact solutions can be found in earlier chapters of this book.
