This chapter is dedicated to the rolling contact of elastic cylinders. The focus is on the exact solution to the contact problem for the case of stationary rolling of infinitely long, elastically similar cylinders satisfying the half-space approximation, which stems from Carter (1926) and Fromm (1927). The consideration of elastic coupling for the case of elastically different materials, for which Dundurs’ second constant does not vanish, is possible up to a certain point in analytical form.
