Typical Atrial Flutter

Typical atrial flutter is the most common atrial macroreentry tachycardia. The long-term therapy of choice is catheter ablation of the cavotricuspid isthmus. The ablation has a high success rate. This article explains the basics, clinical aspects, and therapy of isthmus-dependent atrial flutter with a focus on practical tips for the procedure during catheter ablation in the electrophysiological lab.
