Descriptive Statistics

The methods of descriptive statistics can basically be divided into four aspects. Measures that 1. express a central tendency (average position) of observations / measurements, 2. capture a dispersion or variability in the observations / measurements, 3. describe the shape or profile of the (frequency-) distribution and 4. investigate other special aspects, e.g. the association or an association between two characteristics or series of observations.
