Jacob Levy Moreno (1889–1974): “Playing God” or Directing Until the Last Scene

  • Werner Gross

摘要

This chapter is about Jacob L. Moreno, who, compared to other psychotherapists, primarily sees himself as an artist and director. After a multifaceted and turbulent life, he feels his limits and sees his time has come to say goodbye. He gets into bed and simply stops eating. Even in this situation of constant weakness, he is the director of his own death. He consciously plays his role in the “drama of life” to the end, lets his students parade past his deathbed, and tries not to stand in the way of death and to accept it.
