Explanation of the Texts in Today’s Language

In this Chapter, we want to comment extensively on the two printed texts. Since the shorter text Continuity and Irrational Numbers contains comparatively few mathematical details, its summary in Section 4.1 is brief and we provide a detailed description of the content from today’s perspective in Section 4.2. In the case of the more extensive book What are and what should the Numbers be?, however, we only give a brief summary from a modern perspective in Section 4.4, as the summary in Section 4.3 is naturally longer and we already have to address more modern views for content reasons.
