Acquired Diseases of the Pulmonary Valve
摘要
Acquired pulmonary valve stenosis is a rarity, more often it is congenital pulmonary valve stenosis. Mild pulmonary valve insufficiencies without clinical signs of heart disease are common and are not considered a pathological finding. More severe pulmonary valve insufficiencies can be caused by various diseases and can lead to right ventricular volume overload and right heart failure. The causes, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment of acquired pulmonary valve diseases are discussed in the following chapter.
