This chapter deals with the application of monolithic structures for three-phase reactions. The focus is on hydrodynamics, mass and heat transfer, as well as on the comparative evaluation of monolithic reactors and classic trickle-bed reactors in terms of their respective properties. Advantages and potential application areas of monolithic reactors are also discussed. Considered here are honeycombs, foams, and other conventionally and additively manufactured monolithic structures.

摘要

This chapter deals with the application of monolithic structures for three-phase reactions. The focus is on hydrodynamics, mass and heat transfer, as well as on the comparative evaluation of monolithic reactors and classic trickle-bed reactors in terms of their respective properties. Advantages and potential application areas of monolithic reactors are also discussed. Considered here are honeycombs, foams, and other conventionally and additively manufactured monolithic structures.
