Reactors for Fluid-Solid Reactions: Loop Reactor (Chemical Looping Reactor)
摘要
The division of chemical reactions into several steps, which can be optimized separately, offers an interesting potential for optimizing the overall process. Especially in oxidation reactions, the use of a solid oxidizing agent instead of oxygen can offer this optimization potential, as in addition to increasing the efficiency of the reaction, there is the possibility of targeted separation of components of the reaction mixture during the process. This can avoid energy-intensive pre- or post-separation operations in the process. An important prerequisite for the selection of a suitable solid oxidizing agent is its regenerability by oxidation with atmospheric oxygen. In addition to energy production, this concept, known as chemical looping, also offers the opportunity to separate chemical reactions from unwanted side reactions. Especially in selective oxidation reactions, the total oxidation of the feedstocks or products can be significantly suppressed. The possible gain in the selectivity of the reaction justifies the effort to search for a multifunctional oxygen carrier with high storage capacity and good catalytic activity and selectivity.
