Symmetric Spaces

By restricting the conditions defining homogeneous spaces, one can obtain a large class of spaces that, however, share many properties with the class of spaces of constant curvature. For these symmetric spaces, the isometry group is required to contain a geodesic point reflection at each point p ∈ M.
